Android applications present unique challenges for code analysis due to their event-driven nature, complex lifecycle, and deep interaction with the underlying system. These characteristics make it particularly difficult to identify and reason about security vulnerabilities and privacy risks. This seminar explores fundamental concepts and recent advances in Android code analysis, with a focus on understanding and addressing security and privacy issues. It bridges theoretical foundations with practical tools and real-world applications. Key techniques in static and dynamic analysis are discussed to understand program behavior, detect vulnerabilities, and assess potential privacy leaks. Participants will independently study selected academic literature and present their findings, emphasizing critical thinking and clear communication. Due to the interactive format and individual supervision, participation is limited to approximately 20 students to ensure high-quality guidance and fair assessment.
