Comment/Description

Funktionalanalysis besteht aus einer Kombination von Methoden aus der Linearen Algebra und der Analysis. Der Wortbestandteil "`Funktional"' ist aus der Linearen Algebra bekannt: Ein Funktional ist eine lineare Abbildung von einem Vektorraum in den Skalarenkörper. In dieser Vorlesung werden die Vektorräume typischerweise unendlichdimensional sein, und als Skalarenkörper nimmt man die reellen oder komplexen Zahlen.
