Participants engage with discourses that arise at the intersection of social interests and nature conservation goals. At the same time, key concepts and their political impact and use—including historically—are critically discussed and interpreted.
In addition to contributing to discussions, students can develop small projects, such as videos, audio tours, social media posts, and practical projects with wild bees, in order to place the lines of conflict they have identified in a broader social context and reflect on them.
Similarities and differences between European and African perspectives on nature conservation, land use, and biodiversity are identified.
