Comment/Description

Vorlesung und begleitende Übungen führen in Grundlagen der deskriptiven und schließenden Statistik ein. Es werden folgende thematische Bereiche behandelt: > Datenmatrix: Variablen, Skalen, Skalenniveaus; > Einfache Häufigkeitsverteilung: Anteilswerte, empirische Verteilungsfunktion und Quantile einer Häufigkeitsverteilung, graphische Darstellungen, > Maße der zentralen Tendenz, Streuungsmaße; > Grundgesamtheit und Stichprobe: Sampling als Zufallsexperiment, > Standardfehler und Faktoren, die sich darauf auswirken; > Normalverteilung und andere Stichprobenkennwerteverteilungen; > Test statistischer Hypothesen und Berechnung von Konfidenzintervallen; >Kontingenztabellenanalyse (inklusive Chi2 und Chi2-basierten Korrelationsmaßen); > t-Test, > Varianzanalyse und F-Test; > Kovarianz, Korrelation, einfache und multiple lineare Regression (inklusive Interaktionseffekten, R2 und adj. R2)

[Lecture and tutorials introduce the audience to foundations of descriptive statistics and statistical inference. The sessions cover the following subjects: > Data matrix: variables, scales and scale levels; frequency distributions: percentages, empirical distribution function and quantiles, diagrams; > mean values and dispersion measures; > Population and sample: Sampling as a random experiment; > standard error and its determining factors; > Normal curve and other samplings distributions; > statistical hypotheses and confidence intervals; > contingency table analysis (incl. Chi2 and related measures of correlation); > t test; > analysis of variance and F test; > covariance, correlation, simple and multiple linear regression (including interaction effects, R2 and adj. R2)]
