In diesem Seminar widmen wir uns der gemeinsamen Lektüre von Karl Marx’ „Das Kapital“ (Band 1). Der Fokus liegt auf der intensiven Texterschließung und der kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit den zentralen Thesen, um ein tiefes Verständnis der wichtigsten Konzepte zu entwickeln.

Zu Beginn wird der historische und theoretische Kontext von „Das Kapital“ eingeführt, bevor wir uns schrittweise mit Themen wie Warenfetischismus, Arbeitswerttheorie, Mehrwert und kapitalistischer Akkumulation befassen. Die Texterschließung erfolgt interaktiv, mit regelmäßigen Diskussionen und Gruppenarbeiten, die es den Teilnehmenden ermöglichen, ihre Gedanken auszutauschen und die Konzepte kritisch zu reflektieren.

Der Kurs richtet sich an Studierende aller Disziplinen, die ihre Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit anspruchsvollen Texten und kritischem Denken weiterentwickeln möchten, um die Theorien und Konzepte von Marx in ihrer Tiefe zu verstehen und anzuwenden.

In this seminar, we will engage in a joint reading of Karl Marx’s Capital (Volume 1). The focus is on intensive text interpretation and critical engagement with the central theses to develop a deep understanding of the key concepts.

At the beginning of the course, the historical and theoretical context of Capital will be introduced, followed by a step-by-step exploration of topics such as commodity fetishism, the labor theory of value, surplus value, and capitalist accumulation. The text interpretation will be interactive, with regular discussions and group work, allowing participants to exchange ideas and critically reflect on the concepts.

The course is aimed at students from all disciplines who wish to further develop their skills in engaging with complex texts and critical thinking, with the goal of understanding and applying Marx's theories and concepts in depth.
