Kommentar/Beschreibung

This class is only for students who are studying in the MA English-speaking Cultures programme.

It is the first of two language practice classes aimed at developing academic writing and speaking skills. In order to create a red thread throughout the semester and to allow us to develop one key concept in detail, we will be looking at the concept of sustainable development with particular reference to the sustainable development goals.
Within this framework, we will critically assess the concept of sustainable development as well as its usefulness and limitations. The three assignments you will need to complete this semster will assess your ability to demonstrate academic speaking competence on a complex topic in addition to expressing complex ideas using different text types for academic purposes.
